Synopsis
A seminal comic masterpiece of our time, now published for the first time in Penguin. The Monarchy Has Been Dismantled; When a Republican party wins the General Election, their first act in power is to strip the royal family of their assets and titles and send them to live on a housing estate in the Midlands. Exchanging Buckingham Palace for a two-bedroomed semi in Hell Close (as the locals dub it), caviar for boiled eggs, servants for a social worker named Trish, the Queen and her family learn what it means to be poor among the great unwashed. But is their breeding sufficient to allow them to rise above their changed circumstance or deep down are they really just like everyone else?

Received in the post on Friday from thechinasourcer. I had this book years ago and loved it, so I'm looking forward to reading it again. As in real life, the Queen Mum is my favourite. (Although the image of Prince Charles in a wind suit and growing a ponytail also generates chuckles....)

It's arrived!!! Thank you so much! Looking forward to reading it. Really like the fact you've put so much into it, the stickers and stamps on both the book and the envelope. ;)

Also appreciate that you've even printed the number on the label. Usually I just write it down on pre-printed labels, but yours look much better. Thanks for the idea! Did you know yours is the first book I'm going to read through Bookcrossing! Thanks for making my day!

Of course, will pass the book on after reading it.

When it surfaces from under the TBR pile, AuntyJo will have it next, as a well-deserved prize. :)
