Terry Dowling: One Thing About the Night
Mike O'Driscoll: The Silence of the Falling Stars

I am sad to report that this book seems to be lost in the mail, somewhere between the US and Malaysia. I'm quite frustrated, as this was a brand-new hardcover (and not cheap). Such are the risks, I suppose.

Anyway, my apologies to all of you who were looking forward to reading it.

Well it seems the book arrived safetly ....but it took like 3 months to get here....

UPDATE:
After numerous exchanges with Hathyia and a cryptic account of The Dark being held hostage by the Malaysian post, I am still waiting for this book to come home. The latest story (8/15/05) is that she sent it out but it mysteriously got returned to her. She has now stopped responding to my PMs again.

Update, 2/8/06
I have finally just gone ahead and purchased a second copy of this book. (Fortunately I found a much cheaper copy at bookcloseouts.com!) I will be sharing it with a select few BCers.

Journal Entry 7 by lostbookisland on Sunday, October 23, 2005
It seems that this book has a history of postal problems. Perhaps it hides in THE DARK like the title suggests.

The Lost Book Island welcomes this book to our shores even though we realize this book may never come out of the darkest corner of the closet in its room. This is a shy book indeed. Nevertheless, it is journal entries that can bring it into the light. Journal entries that will tell us where this book was seen last and help us to plot future journies. Destined to be on a bookring where it can safely get back home to the owner that loves and cherishes it one can only imagine the frustration when it gets lost not just for days or weeks but what can now be called months and years. We can only hope that a new journal entry alert will come very soon.
