At 7.30 one evening the FBI learn of a plot to kill her -- the 1572nd such threat of the year. At 8.30 five people know all the details. By 9.30 four of them are dead.

FBI agent Mark Andrews alone knows when. He also knows that a senator is involved. He has six days to learn where -- and how. Six days to prevent the certain death of the President.

I picked this book up at San Antonio's BXers monthly meetup from First-Noel. I saw the description from the release note and called dibs before the others got to Babe's burger place. Thanks chicky!

2004 Book #43 Shall We Tell the President?

This book was first written back in 1977. Archer later revised it to be more up to date, in 1986. So the main plot of the book is easy, this from the back of the book:

From the first few chapters I thought this book was going to be more exciting than it turned out to be. From the above description you'd think Andrews was out there on his own. I was also just waiting for him to be betrayed by the people he turned out to confide in from the FBI. That would have made things more outrageous and exciting. But that turned out to not be the case. In fact he did a lot of research which the FBI guy he works with has dozens of other agents working on and also finding out. Oh well. Not too exciting, but not bad either.

One thing I found funny was that this book was written by a Brit and it showed. For one thing there were Brit spellings of english words. For another was that the FBI guy was very...prissy? prim and proper? stiff upper lip? In other words, he was very proper British. lol And supposedly this was in America. Oh well. That made me smile. :)

Last book I released into the wild today. My husband and I were on our way home and I left the book on one of the seats in the back of the bus. I almost forgot to release it since we saw our stop very suddenly. lol Hope someone journals this book! I left it around 620PM.
