Sie sind willkommen Muffin77 :-) I had a great time and look forward to someday getting to Germany and dragging you with me to see the Black Forest and find that place where the 21st century family had to live like 100 years ago :-)
"Papa, I want to stop drinking." -
"Don't say such a silly thing, Visko. You're a sponge."

I absolutely loved the book. It's a very fast read and quite funny. I am a Biologist and I found the idea of how the book is written amazing - maybe one day I will be an author as well???
My fave chapters/animals were:
* Snail - never thought about what they think actually
* Praying Mantis - just because they are by far my fave insects!!!!
* Cuckoo, Chameleon, Pig - I think in those stories you could feel the most that the author is Russian
* Rat - I love the explanation of the name VISKOVITZ =:o))))
* Parrot - it's just funny
* Microbe - of course since my master is Evolutionary Genetics
-----
Thanks soooooo soooooo soooooo much for sharing this cute book with us!!!!! I finished it in Boston already but had no time to send it on from there...

The book arrived safely in today's mail; many thanks! I'll start it soon (the cover alone is making me giggle!)...
Oh, this was great fun! Some of the stories actually have some fairly deep thoughts among the frivolity while others are pure slapstick, but they're all entertaining (and many will make you exercise your biological and zoological vocabulary!). I'd have to vote for the mantis as my favorite, with one of the best laugh-out-loud lines in the book: "God had blessed me with the most precious gift he could give a mantis: premature ejaculation." I was also fond of the dormouse, snail, and shark - and the hapless lion... well, they're all great. I think I'm going to be giving out a few copies of this book as Christmas presents - but this one's going in the mail to greedyreader tomorrow. Thanks for starting this bookray, Zmrzlina!
This title has quite a checkered history. This, the second copy to go out for this bookray, got lost in the mail. So, GoryDetails very kindly replaced it with a third copy and the journal may be read here. If ever there was a book that needed BC karma sent its way, this is it :-)
