Journal Entry 1 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Friday, October 17, 2003
I'm not big on the whole detective novel genre, but this was a fun little book, rich with descriptions. I really enjoyed reading it. From the back cover: A treasure worth killing for. Sam Spade, a slightly shopworn private eye with his own solitary code of ethics. A perfumed grifter named Joel Cairo, a fat man named Gutman, and Brigid O'Shaughnessy, a beautiful and treacherous woman whose loyalties shift at the drop of a dime. These are the ingredients of Dashiell Hammett's cooly glittering gem of detective fiction, a novel that has haunted three generations of readers.

This came in the mail today. Thanks!! Ok, this is horrible, but did I ask you for this book, or was it a Relay? I have so many things going on with bookcrossing, that I can't keep them straight. It was nice to see a College Station return address though. I used to live right down the street from you on Welsh Ave. This book is TBR
