I received this book today from BrynnSC.
Domes of Fire is a simple fantasy story with a touch of levity. The characters are mostly flat and the plot is mostly unoriginal. There is no tension in the story since it always seems obvious that the "good" characters will outwit the "bad" characters.
Though the story is flat, unoriginal, and largely predictable, it is also humorous and fast-paced. Humor is inserted at several perfect points through out the story which changes a rather bland read into a fun read. Also, since the story is fast-paced, it keeps you from becoming too bored with the events.
In summary, I can recommend this book as light entertainment, but it does not have enough substance to be a long-lasting favorite.
