Typically weird but entertaining Patrick McCabe storytelling. Pat McNab is 45 years old and firmly tied to his mother's apron strings - until he cuts them in the most conclusive way. But one thing leads to another, and before he knows it he's having to expand the laurel patch to fit all the bodies. And then he tries a few magic mushrooms and reality becomes a bit hazy...
