The Art of Racing in the Rain (Audiobook on 6 CDs)
12 journalers for this copy...
“My soul has learned what it came to learn, and all the other things are just things. We can't have everything we want. Sometimes, we simply have to believe.” - Enzo -- The Art of Racing in The Rain
Second, I didn't realize till this moment that it's about a dog named Enzo. My friend has a dog named Enzo, which I called Murderer, because he has eaten 3 of my friend's budgies (which the family let out without properly ensuring that the dog was locked up in another room.) Not exactly the dog's fault but does make me feel not very loving towards the dog... Wonder if the family named the dog after this book?
The story makes me cry, it makes me laugh. I feel depressed one moment, uplifted the next. Enzo is the best dog there ever is!!
I like the story and enjoyed the details about car racing, which are very authentic. The story itself is pretty straight forward, at times it feels like the author adds more things (like the car accident) just to make things more complicated. But overall it's good.
Now will return to Azuki.

My first ever AudioBookBox participation was in BigJohnsLefty's last one. I posted all of his titles in his journal for him, and in the thread, as well. I laughed so hard because I never dreamed the box he sent would be SO HUGE, and have SO MANY selections. I must have used an entire roll of tape to secure the battered box before sending it on it's way to the next person. I chose five titles, and have already released two of them. Three remain, and I'd like to keep them together, and offer them as a Bookring in his memory for those who are interested. I will be including a little journal for you to write a fond memory, if you like...in hopes to be able to send it to his family once it returns to me.
This will be my first ever Bookring, and with just three little titles, it will be inexpensive for all to mail. The titles are listed below. If you are interested in participating, please sign up here, and PM me.

NOTE...
Decided to keep these three titles a bit longer so I have a chance to actually listen to them in full before I offer them for RABCK in BigJohnLefty's Memory. ; )

Have you ever wondered what your dog is thinking?
Meet one funny dog—Enzo, the lovable mutt who tells this story. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: most dogs love to chase cars, but Enzo longs to race them. He learns about racing and the world around him by watching TV and by listening to the words of his best friend, Denny, an up-and-coming race car driver, and his daughter, Zoë, his constant companion. Enzo finds that life is just like being on the racetrack—it isn't simply about going fast. And, applying the rules of racing to his world, Enzo takes on his family's challenges and emerges a hero. In the end, Enzo holds in his heart the dream that Denny will go on to be a racing champion with his daughter by his side. For theirs is an extraordinary friendship—one that reminds us all to celebrate the triumph of the human (and canine) spirit.

UPDATE 6/14/2017
I loved this story told from a dog's point of view, and the narrator's voice fit the character perfectly. I think I ended up reading the book to release for Secretariat's Challenge after finding it at Friends of the Library, instead of listening to the rest of it. Much easier for me to start and stop, and I do so enjoy the feel of an actual book in my hands. Have decided to put this one into erishkigal's WILD THING Bookbox, so it can continue on it's Journey, in memory of BigJohnLefty, and his AudioBookbox that it arrived in, which was his last...RIP. His Golden Retriever Jack, must miss him terribly. http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/9846748?page=2

UPDATE 6/16/2017
Correction...I have decided not to put this in erishkigal's Wild Thing Bookbox after all. Instead, I am going to send it to her as a RABCK. ; ) After doing a search of her Bookshelf, it doesn't seem as though she's ever read this one, while she has had several copies of Seabiscuit, or I'd send that along, too. She recently replied to one of my posts in her thread regarding the fact that audiobooks were great for her to listen to on long drives without radio signal, and while I don't know exactly WHEN she is going, I know she said in her profile that she makes a summer trip to the Rez for the Ceremony. This may be just what she needs for a little company on her trip this year. ; ) Happy "listening". ; )
