This book is an alternate history, what if you killed Hitler... but as a result somebody worse lived? One of the best books I've read that makes you think about consequences, and a very deft and funny book to boot.

This book is available as a BOOKRING. PM if you are interested, release date to be before the end of October.

I hope to read this before the 5th December but if not I am sure it will be safe for the book to stay over Christmas

An enjoyable take on the "what if" scenario of would our world be better if Hitler had not existed. Our world is as it is as a direct consequence of Hitler's reign of terror. History shows us why we are as we are now. Change history and you change everything.

I enjoyed Stephen Fry's writing. It is the first novel of his I have read. I did find the movie screenplays a little tedious, but apart from that I have no real beefs. I will be checking out his other novels when I get the chance.

It arrived with me this morning, and I am very relieved to have full permission to hang on to it until the New Year - I might even find time to read it by then!

I very much like Stephen Fry as a performer and had looked forward to my first experience of Stephen Fry the author, but I was a bit disappointed. Somehow I found this book just wasn't reaching out to me to be read, although I did give it a fair try.

With so many Toobie-Reds on my shelves and so many people waiting on Rings and Rays, it seemed only fair to give up and let this book move on. Perhaps I will give it another go at some time in the future.

It is on its way to Lorelei03 in New York to-day.

OK, the status of this book is now 'Lost in Vortex of Bad Manners'.

It was sent to lorelei03 at the beginning of January. She never journalled to say she got it and when I checked with her she said she had got it, had read it and would be mailing it on. I checked about a week ago with the next person on the list (meshe) to see if this had happened as there were *still no journals*. Meshe had been asked for an addy but decided to skip the book....which means that it has gone to kalipriestess..... who also has not journalled and who it has been noted previously on the forums takes forever to get round to things.

Those who were further down on the list will automatically be included on a different ring for this book which I will send out soon.
