Synopsis (Credit: Back cover)
'As for me, I have one ambition only: to invent stories, very beautiful stories.' So said Karen Blixen who, in creating her spellbinding tales of fantasy and romance, also invented for herself the persona of Isak Dinesen.
Karen Blixen was born in Denmark and moved to Kenya with her husband to manage a coffee plantation in 1914. There she wrote the luminous stories of passion and adventure that sowed the seeds of her literary reputation. These three stories are taken from Winter's Tales.
(Bought second-hand at Help the Rural Child Charity Bookshop, Victoria Road, Mowbray.)

Three beautifully crafted stories.
Nothing is superficial or pompous here. With delicate skill, Karen Blixen whisks the reader away into a different world.
