March tends to be a difficult month for me when it comes to the Chills and Spills challenge, but I think this book has me covered. It's the third book by this author I've read, and I'm still having fun with them.

The man known as Never Dead Ned *can* die (and he doesn't enjoy it any more than the other members of Brute's Legion) - he just doesn't usually *stay* dead for long. When he's appointed as the commander of Ogre Company, he doesn't appreciate being transferred to a job that's even more dangerous than being an accountant for a perpetuallly-hungry gryphon...but he doesn't know that his junior officers have deliberately killed off his predecessors.

When he learns that he has six months to turn his motley assortment of orcs, ogres, trolls, elves, goblins, and others into an efficient fighting unit, he starts to get seriously worried...and that's before he learns about his past and why a sorcerer and a demon are out to get him.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Ned is off to Arizona to see if he likes the weather there; it should at least be a roc-free zone, which should make it a little less hazardous than what he's used to.

Released for GoryDetails's 2012 Chills and Spills Read and Release Challenge and Secretariat's Oh, the Places We Can Go challenge...and Firegirl's 4 Elements challenge.
