We learn about how the group of runaways are doing, and meet Cloak and Dagger!!!! I love those two! Of course our runaways dismiss them as b-list. Kids! they have no respect!
Travelling off with k00kaburra's Manga box for its next stop. Hope you enjoy it!

took from manga bookbox
finally got around to starting a second pass through this series. the first volume has to pack a lot in, but in this volume things are a bit slow on story arc in order to focus more on the characters and how they adapt to their new situation and new powers. enjoyable, esp. the cloak and dagger story arc (featuring manga-like artwork by takeshi miyazawa), but the next volumes are even better.
Pulled from the manga and graphic novel book box.
I picked this out of the manga book box as I enjoy Brian K. Vaughn's work quite a bit. I have not read the first volume but enjoyed this one quite a bit. I thought it fun that a teen runaway version of Cloak and Dagger were included, and actually liked that Dagger poked fun at the original character's costume.
This is a series that if my library happens to have the next few books I may pick up to find out what happens to the group as they try to keep away from their parents.

I am using this to seed a new graphic novel and manga book box.
I'm claiming this from the manga/graphic novel bookbox. I enjoyed Volume 1 of the series, and am glad to have the next installment.
Later: A good mix of plot and character here, showing how the runaways' evil-villain parents are not without resourcefulness - especially as they seem to have a mole in the group, which makes every scene of the kids together very suspenseful.
There's humor, too, with the sometimes-sloppy application of powers, the "so I'm the only one who made a costume?" bit, and the attitude towards the dashing duo from the east coast.
I liked the womanizing-vampire story, too, but am glad it was resolved fairly quickly. The whole issue of the Pride stalking our runaway heroes, on the other hand, looks to turn into quite a nightmare...
[There's a TV Tropes page on the series that's fun and informative; just beware of spoilers!]
