one of the Tempe Brennan series - set between Montreal and North Carolina - an odd but interesting combination.

Off to Bluenoser as a surprise along with a book she is expecting.

Hope she likes it!

Received in the mail today. Sent by Grorser in New Brunswick. Thanks guys, it looks good and scary!
What a wonderful surprise - an extra book (from my wish list) in the same package.
Both are good cold evening reading.

I'm really hooked on Kathy Reichs' books, more so because I lived in Montreal for 2 years when I first arrived in Canada.
The book is a real nail-biter, a cliff-hanger at the end of each chapter. It's very descriptive, gruesome and gory. I wouldn't recommend reading while eating or alone at home near bed-time. I saw Kathy Reichs being interviewed on the TV show "Mystery Ink" last week, she admitted that Tempe Brennan is modelled on her own professional life and her expertise as a forensic anthropologist, but happily her personal life isn't so dangerous or traumathic.
This is going off to New Zealand now, as a RABCK to carnelian-rune, who remembered that I had expressed an interest in reading New Zealand authors a while back and is sending me "The Gospel @ccording to Cole".

What a surprise! Many, many thanks, Bluenoser. I have a huge interest in forensics, and my brother's fiancee is actually a forensic anthropologist. This has gone straight to the top of my TBR pile.

Damn this was good. I haven't ever been this gripped by a story. It got to the stage where I couldn't put it down, and ended up reading until 2.30 in the morning. I lay thrumming like a violin string for about an hour afterwards.

I've passed the book to my wife, who shares my interest in this type of story. She is a very slow reader, so I don't expect the book to come free for a couple of months. :-)

I've got another book by this author somewhere in my lounge. I'm almost hesitant to read it in case it isn't quite as good.

OK, I relieved my wife of the book, as she showed no sign of getting past chapter 2, and passed it to my sister-in-law who had a trip to Dallas planned.

The book has been released in a Subway restaurant across the road from the Texas Book Depository.
