Thank you for all 3 books! Wasn't expecting that :) Not heard of Liz before but that will all change once I've read this. Many thanks!

This book was all over the place and it took my awhile to get into it. I now know that Liz is the nan in The Royal family, which wasn't a show I was overly keen on. This wasn't a bad book but is random snippets of her life, rather than anything in depth. Nice to know that she didn't get her acting career in order until she was in her fifties. Gives hope to the rest of us!

Thank you very much for this fabulous package. And yes, I do like the chocolate and so does Mrs D!
I remember Liz in one of the "A Christmas Carol" films. I think she played a washer-woman fighting over Scrooge's effects.

Enjoyable and amusing read. Just what I needed as an antedote to some of the heavier stuff I've been reading recently.
Passing it on to Mrs Deltic.

Mrs Deltic's Review
I have always been an admirer of Liz. She is such a wonderful character actress. It was interesting to hear about her early life and family.

Tree-hugger fancied this from the books available when a group of BookCrossers got together with
kirjakko and her friend who were visiting York from Finland. I brought it home for her to claim next time I see her .... don't know whether or not I'll read it myself first ....

Thanks for keeping this for me Nu-Knees. It looks like a light easy read so I might get to it sooner than some of the others on Mount To Be Read.

I didn't really get on with the style of this autobiography. The reminiscences were so short you couldn't really get into them before she had stopped and moved onto the next thing. She had an interesting life though.

Picked up at the monthly York Bookcrossing meetup.
I loved this! Liz Smith's writing is wonderfully simple; deceptively so. She gives us wonderful little portraits from her life, writing about success and tragedy with the same even handed humour.
