When I first learned any kind of SQL it was for web stuff and I picked MySQL because it seemed to be the most prevalent. Then I decided I liked PostgreSQL better (possibly not with any deeper reasoning than I first picked MySQL with.) Now I'm using it for different things and I use SQLite.
