Excellent - absorbing, atmospheric and pacey. Only spoiled by the too-convenient rescue in the cellar. Will be listening to the rest in the series. (Thank goodness there is someone around who realises that audiobooks need to be unabridged!)

This is my first audiobook, I chose this one because I thought listening to the story would be easier than reading it. Didn't have any desire to read it but was curious to find out what all the fuss was about. Ergo, audiobook was perfect for me.

The story was a bit slow and a bit too gory in places for me. It held my attention ovearall and kept me guessing right up to the end.

If anybody has the other two in audiobook form, please send them my way.

I ‘caught’ this box of audio discs off Ythan yesterday [just a few minutes ago really], on Monday evening, by the way thanks, and plan to listen to it before sending it off on a journey.

I have a paperback copy somewhere that I have been meaning to read for ages but somehow I have just not got round to tackling it. So perhaps an audio version will be a more doable entertainment than the ‘tome’. It’s been a number of years since I have ‘listened’ to a book, an activity I sometimes used to be able to indulge in at work, and it always used to be a real treat. Thanks Ythan!

PS How could I not pick this up its unabridged = BLISS!!!
