I started this and just could not get into it. it drove me mad that the main character kept calling everyone "mate" all the time, I gave up in the end.

The funny thing is that I just picked up another copy of this book from a book recycling shelf here in Finland :) Hadn't looked at the first sentence, though, so didn't recognise it. I'll let my copy travel on straight away and put this one onto my TBR pile.
