Thanks Rahar109! Just opened this as I have just arrived home. A lovely surprise.
A wonderful book. Great plot, great characters, the writing was just brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyable. This is the second book I've read by this author and I will definitely be seeking out the rest.

Fingersmith is a great read, it's twisty and twisted and incredibly atmospheric. Sarah Waters grabs you straight away with her character's realistic rough use of language and her sense of place. I was properly gob-smacked by the trick that starts part three, though having since read The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins I realize where the author (unconsciously?) lifted the idea from. It's a classic Victorian novel but with modern pacing, so I'd encourage people not to assume it's traditional historical fare and also not to be worried about a semi-chunky book as it's a real page turner.
