Like a pile of other strange little oddities, this was given to me by the amazing anathema-device, who salvaged it from Graz' English bookshop when it closed down.

7 out of 10

Five short stories from one of classic Science Fiction's greatest. They span a decent bandwidth from speculative sci fi with moebius strip planets to more short-story-ish tales involving oddball characters like computer-obsessed monks or drunk scientists, and ending in (funny?) punchlines; those stories I liked rather less then the more serious ones, but all of them seem rather dated. My highlight is the comment regarding the Earth's population density on page 18:
Six billion of them, packed on to land which isn't big enough to hold them all. Already they're crowding over into the sea beds.
Now that we've reached the seven billion mark, are any of you so crowded that you are living on the sea beds?

Taking part in curlycat's ABC challenge.
