Really liked reading this. Fun, quirky, realistic heroine. I enjoyed her talking about dating, and her mom etc. Real life touches.
Happy Reading!

Margaret "Midge" is a published author who still can't pay her bills. Her mother has pushed her to have a date with Dr. Leon Skripnik, a urologist, which makes him an desirable bachelor. When he arrives - finding her still dressing up and with a messy unkempt flat - he is not interested in the date - luckily! - but in Midge's ability to translate a 12-page letter from Russian. He is obsessed with having and finding his cultivated relatives who had to stay behind in the old USSR. The task is daunting for Midge, and the next thing she hears is her mother telling her that they have to go to Leon's funeral. And there, everybody thinks that Midge was a homebreaker and Leon's mistress - that old word to mean lover/sugarbaby. She decides to investigate the matter as she is afraid of being consider the main suspect. The attractive Italian police detective is another perk.

I didn't think it was realistic; a true police officer is not going to discuss his case with one of the... suspects?. I liked the humour in the novel, especially her frigging funnily-annoying mother, but apart from that, it was a very classical mystery story.
