Personal Collection. Yet to be read. This book is being offered on the Boomerang BookRelay. This means that I want the book back when whoever accepts it has finished reading it. :-)

This is the sixth volume of Maya Angelou's autobiography. I have enjoyed all of the previous books in this set - I expect this one to be wonderful as well. This book includes the period of time in which Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. were assassinated up through the point that Ms. Angelou began writing I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.

Honored to receive this book from Rendiru in a Boomerang Book Relay.
I admire Maya Angelou so much and have had the privilege of hearing her speak in recent years at 2 national Childrens Defense Fund Conferences.
I will return it when finished. (remind me if you'd like it sooner than I send it!)
Thanks!

I wanted to love this book - but what has dawned on me honestly is - I like and admire the powerful, centered, principled , creative woman Maya Angelou has become, more than the gritty details of her autobiographies...
Returning this boomerang relay to rendiru with thanks!

This arrived in today's mail along with a lovely surprise - another book by Maya Angelou - Gather Together In My Name. Thank you so much JDT!

I finished this book last night. Although I didn't find it as gripping as I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, I enjoyed this book very much. Maya Angelou has a way of drawing me into the narration and making me feel a part of the story. She has led an interesting life and I was fascinated to read about it.

This book will be traveling to visit Dawni.
