1937 Newbery winner with lovely line drawings.

New York City in the 1890s: ten-year-old Lucinda's parents go to Europe for a year and leave her with Miss Peters and Miss Nettie.

A product of the era when it was written, but a fun read, based in part on the author's own experience.
