The second book in the Primes series.
Escaping from an experimental medical facility and now desperate for blood, vampire Marcus Cage comes across Jo Elliot camping alone in the Arizona desert. Instinctively recognizing her as The One-his soul mate-and knowing he must feed or die, he clouds her mind and slakes his thirst. Confused, wary, yet attracted to this stranger, who seems to be able to read her mind, Jo has no idea who Marcus is or what has really happened to her; but as they flee across the desert, she can no longer ignore her feelings or the strange bond that is forming between them.
