Received this surprise RABCK in the mail today-thank you very much Chremajora! Thanks also for the postcard of Siegen which is very interesting. I must confess I didn't realise that this book was the third in the trilogy so I must try to read the others with all haste so I can read this one in the correct order! Will review when I have read it.

As my husband had managed to read the 1st two books in this trilogy before me he got to read this one first too. He comments as follows:-
"This book, the 3rd of the trilogy started off with plenty of interesting chapters but by half-way I found it lost my interest with far too many names of people and places. I persevered and was pleased to find the story picked up again and regained my interest. I enjoyed the first book the most but considered the next two too drawn out."

I am currently about a third of the way through the book and will review it when I have finished. (Daffodil-2)

REVIEW:- (WARNING- CONTAINS SPOILERS!) Well, it was quite an experience getting through this 743 page long book. Having read the 1st two books in the trilogy I was eager to read more. However I did feel that much more detail was included than was really necessary i.e. names of places, people etc. At times there were so many different organisations, institutions and government departments investigating each other and plotting against each other that it was extremely hard for me to keep up with them all. However it was a pleasant challenge to try.
I found it difficult to believe that someone who had been shot 3 times, inlcuding in the head, and then buried alive could manage to remove themself from the grave and after a short walk attack someone else and injure them badly with an axe. I also got tired of hearing of how many sandwiches were eaten and how much coffee was drunk.

Having said all of the above I enjoyed the story of journalist Blomkvist, who was so attractive to women and Salander the abused heroine who was so gifted with technology and managed to finally triumph over adversity. I felt that, if he had lived longer, Stieg Larsson would have continued the story and I would be keen to know what he would have had Lisbeth do with the money she had amassed.
