Sandman V is the episode which I’ve read through fastest up to now. Compared to the previous books it’s an entire continuous story, which acts in the here and now (more or less), so that the perusing narrative flow is steadily increasing the tension.
Barbie is a quite typical young woman, who (somewhere living in N.Y.) is enjoying her life after the seperation of Ken. But somewhere there is existing another world, which is threatened by extinction and where she is the monarch. Barbie doesn’t sense anything about this menacing danger. And so, some of the inhabitants head off at the risk of losing their lifes, to ask her to help them.
The story is gripping without exception and plays with the different levels of two worlds, where subliminally is created the impression, that one is the real earth and the other a complete imaginary one. But a reality, which is populated by Barbie and Ken, dream creatures who are paying a visit and hoary magic beings? What’s real? What’s fantasy?
Gorgeous narrative (even if there is a little bit less thoughtfulness than in some of the previous books), congenial drawings – a wonderful read!

The book is here! Thanks for sending Xirxe and for the tea, will enjoy it together with the book :). Looking forward to the next Sandman story. Thanks again for sharing them LilyKlip!
I really enjoyed reading this one, it comes close to the previous volume I think (which is my favorite so far). Especially as it's more a continuous story, which kept me reading and reading. The drawings are really nice and add to the mood of the story, though some bits were a bit uhmm.. bloody (and creepy) :p.
I PMed kiwiinengland a couple days ago and waiting for a reply.

KiwiinEngland contacted me. She moved to New Zealand an can therefore no longer participate in this spiral as it is EU-only. Please skip her! Thank you!

This just arrived -- in an amusingly decorated envelope (it has Far Side cartoons as well as BC stickers). Thanks Tsjara and others for passing it along and LilyKlip for starting the ring. I'll get onto this book later in the week -- I'm looking forward to another installment of Dream's story.
Nice postcard, Tsjara!

Hit the mat yesterday. Looking forward to reading it.

I enjoyed reading this episode about Barbie's dreamworld. The rag bag of characters are all well crafted. I would like to more about Thessaly. 'Perfect' Barbie is now a troubled drifter living off Ken's sporadic alimony - great irony.
On it's way to Lunacia soon.

The book is with me now, arrived today. Alas, it smells strongly of perfume... :( Will have to put it away until it smells less.
EDIT 22 June 2012
There's still a smell of perfume on the book, but I think I'll be OK reading it. Will bring it along for my long train travel tomorrow, and will hopefully be able to post it while in Oslo.

Journal Entry 21 by Appelsiini at Lempäälä, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Thursday, July 12, 2012
This is the best Sandman story, I think. I liked it although I first thought it would be harder to cpncentrate in to reading one full story instead of many shorter ones. I liked the characters, this was just perfect holiday reading! Thanks for sharing this one! :)
This Sandman has to wait for a while when I'm back from my holiday and near any post office again. Please be patient! :)

Thanks for being so patient, I'm now back home and will mail this one tonight! Happy Bookcrossing! :)
Arrived safe and sound, thanks! :)
My summer has been busy with work and a couple of trips, and a few rings/rays arrived at the same time over this past week, so I'm a bit behind with my reading, but not yet stalling anything (I think!) *big grin*.
As there's nobody else behind me, I'll leave this one for last. Two thick but hopefully interesting books to read before it.

The book is still with vedranaster who wanted to read some other books before. As I consider it to be safe with her I will send out Number 7 this week because Volume 6 is past the half-way line.
All the big books finished, so starting this one tomorrow.
Thanks for letting me hang on to it for a while, LilyKlip! :)

Left today, on its way back home. :)
I enjoyed it a lot. It was like a story unto itself.
Looking forward to discovering how and if it ties in with the rest.
