Wow! This was certainly spooky! It's a long book but, once started, I couldn't put it down. The main character, Paul, has Tourette Syndrome and it is portrayed in a balanced and compassionate way. Some of the other "conditions" included in the story, I was happy to learn with a google search, do not seem to be medically accurate. Can't say too much without giving away important plot details!

I really respected the character of Paul's girlfriend, Lia, though for a short while I thought she might not be so nice ;-). All the characters were well developed and Hecht clearly shows their internal struggles.

This is a very well-plotted page-turner with a few twists and turns and (at least for me) some surprising stuff at the end. Recommended!

I'd never heard of the author before receiving this. Thanks for the introduction, Bloedengel!
