a cleverly written and intriguing book - Logan Mountstuart is half English, half Uruguayan, brought up in Uruguay until he arrives in England to attend boarding school in the early 1920s. After that the book follows his life - and the changes of the 20th century - through fictional personal diaries - so clever that at points you have to check the cover to know that yes, it is fiction.

Journal Entry 4 by Dalesman at Knoydart, Scotland United Kingdom on Tuesday, July 16, 2013
Found on Sunday 14th July in the Old Forge Inn where Pam99 had left it. Knoydart for the people who don't know the place is one of Scotland's remote outposts and only reachable by boat or a 2-day walk!!

Nearly half way through it as I write but would agree with her sentiments about how cleverly the author has incorporated distinguished people from the past into his story and I, as Pam99 says wondered whether it was fiction or non-fiction.

It will be 'released' in the Yorkshire Dales
