WOW. Thank you so so much. What a great surprise and what a gorgeous magnet (already on my fridge).

And the really really cool thing is, I am from Kilysth, Scotland. I lived there for the first 3 years of my life. So seeing the postmark on the envelope made me smile.

Good thriller. Found that the New York section of the book popped to life for me more than the Russian section. I do not know why, but I found it hard to read the Russian section. Glad to have read it though.

I really enjoyed this book, and I'm not even much of a mystery fan.
The characters are very well built and believable, the plot is very tight and the pace is not frantic.
I found the whole Cold War feeling was very well worked by the author and the differences between Arkady and Kirwill (for instance) really make that feeling pop up. The author feels more comfortable on the NYC set and it shows but I found the Moscow part pretty good and you can actually get a feel of the city like it was back then. Both the Soviet and American early 1980's societies and mindsets are faithfully depicted.
A good mystery that will grab your attention and pull you in little by little until you're fully submerged in the intrigue.
Worth the read.

Finally done with it, it took a while!

Thank you for sharing this book. Unfortunately, I did not like it very much. It felt to me that the author had something against Russia, and it showed. I did not think it characterized the country and the environment very well (certainly not in a positive, or even neutral, way) and that the story dragged along for a long time.

Here is a more extended comment (in portuguese): http://naomeapeteceestudar.blogspot.pt/2014/02/gorky-park.html

On any case, thank you for sharing this book! I'll see now where it will go next. :)
