I saw a review of this online and was intrigued by the concept of a steampunk yaoi manga, so I ordered it. Turns out it's a rather sweet obstacles-to-love story featuring a ballet dancer, his over-strict manager/trainer, and the journalist who falls in love with him. The steampunk element mainly has to do with the technology of androids - the journalist has a very old-fashioned model (who still looks pretty good!), whom he keeps by him since he's had the thing since he was a child - and with some of the outfits, which show a fondness for lots and lots of buckles {wry grin}. It could have gone farther; there's a passenger liner, for example, that could have been an airship instead, though that wouldn't have made much difference to the story. There are a couple of pretty steamy sex scenes, and some will-they-make-it suspense, but it's not as angsty as some I've read, and I liked the artwork and characters. [There are some amusing chibi strips at the end as well.]
I'm adding this book to emmejo's Steampunk bookbox, which will soon be on its way to its next stop with angelface46 in Colorado. Enjoy!
Might be keeping this one; haven't decided yet.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Put this one back into the "Steampunk Bookbox" so it could continue its travels!
This book arrived in my Steampunk Bookbox. A swift flip-through seems to suggest that this may be too melodramatic and ostentatiously emotional for my taste, but I'll give it a go.
Beautiful, famed dancer Danya has a secret; he isn't human. He is a highly realistic robot, designed by his manager. But when Danya meets Patrick, a journalist known for exposing fraud, they quickly fall in love and Danya must decide whether he thinks he can trust Patrick with his true identity.
Although this is marketed as manga and is published by Yaoi Press, the authors are actually Italian comic artists and drawing teachers. Just a fact I thought might interest other readers.
I have to say the artwork in here is really not my style. It feels too smoothed out and sharpened. I'm also not a big fan of the puffy-lipped, huge-eyed, nearly-noseless look that was used for nearly every "pretty" character, and actually found the villainous manager far better looking.
The story was engaging despite not being very unique, and the pacing was mostly well-done, although I felt like a couple of the short sex scenes were jammed into the story where they weren't needed.

Added to GoryDetails' LGBT bookbox.
I'm normally not a huge fan of Yaoi, but this seems to be a bit off the normal path of that genre. Taking from the book box to read!
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I had given up on reading Yaoi, as it just isn't for me. This one looked a bit different, and the Steampunk element had me curious. I'm glad I spent the time reading it after all! The characters were not the usual pathetic simpering self loathing Yaoi boys, which is what drove me from the genre! A cute love story with a cool twist, and throw in the Steampunk element, it was a lot of fun!
