Couldn't resist this - just 50p in Brighouse's Forget-Me-Not charity shop.
Dedicated to my husband and partners of all other Book Crossers who mock our delightful, harmless and very addictive little hobby!
I know who I'm saving this for!!
"Curmudgeonly, acute, touching and funny, this diary is what happens when grumpy old women meet Bridget Jones"

I started this, then just skimmed the middle bit - I'm barely coping with being 50 let alone trying to identify with someone who is 60!!
I did, however, like the references to the Rules for the Over 50's, including not wearing white because it makes your teeth look yellow. Hmmm.
Saving for Plum-crazy (just move it along if you can't be bothered with it.)

Ha ha...guess this is the book you were telling me about lol!
As it's a diary of growing old disgracefully let's see what I can expect to do/become over the next few years......

Sorry didn't like this, I found nothing endearing about the character of Marie Sharp at all - in fact found her very irritating at times, especially when she went into grandmother mode!
Now the character might have a good ten years on me but some comments did resonate with me - I think there was one about grunting while getting up out of a seat, well I'm guilty on all accounts there m'lud!
All-in-all I totally disagree with all the back cover blurb comments about what a genius comic creation Marie is & that I'll be laughing out loud - she isn't & I wasn't!
For any future readers....& of course my good Bookcrossing buddy KawasakiBabe....if you want a good giggle about middle-aged women try
Sue Townsend's "The Public Confessions of a Middle-aged Woman 55 3/4"
Now that IS funny, well I thought so ....

Given to me by a friend in Halifax. Loved it. I am 58yrs old and a grandma and identified so much with Marie Sharp. I'm off to South Africa shortly and will pass it to my friend there, she is 60yrs old and a grandma so hoping she will love it too.
