Neurotica

This is a really horrible IMO Chick lit book, as I know others who have enjoyed it, I can't say that this is a book that no one could possible like.
I read five pages and that was enough for me, as a writer myself it offends me that crap like this can get published and not only that, this author has published more than one book! I can only hope that the others are better. The worst thing about this book is that it is contrived in every sense of the word. The humor, which could have been funny and would have been humorous, had the author not tried so hard. It is also exceedingly raunchy I'm no prude, I can handle raunchy if it's also humorous, but alas it is not. It is raunchy just to be raunchy as if the reader isn't intelligent enough to stay interested in a book without book without continuous and needless references to both male and female genitilia. Even the interactions between characters are unbelievable, as in a discussion between the main character and a business aquaintance about the fact that her husband may or may not have been playing with himself when she neither likes nor trusts the person she is telling this to. What woman divulges this kind of info to anyone but her bestfriend or mother? Sue Margolis needs a good editor, the ideas were there but this book could not pull them off.
