Memoir of growing up in a dark and volatile house after WWII in England. The author's parents were committed Marxists, although her father was an emigre. Repressive atmosphere, and she recounts how she overcame her chioldhood, and leter her anorexia. Very odd as the childhood memories are presented simply, as immutable events, with no attempt to incorporate them into adult knowledge. The author's father loomed larger than life in her childhood, and still seems to do so. Sad.
