To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was instantly successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature. The plot and characters are loosely based on the author's observations of her family and neighbors, as well as on an event that occurred near her hometown in 1936, when she was 10 years old.

Journal Entry 6 by Chremajora at Siegen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Wednesday, November 20, 2013
Thank you for passing this on to me. After I chose the first sentence, I thought maybe it sounded familiar... but I just couldn't place the book it came from. Now it has arrived, I realise that I do indeed know this book... but it won't harm me to read it again before passing on. I have loved this story since reading it as a 15-year old at school!
I still love this book!
Now I have re-read it, I am going to lend it to my student Marita, who is a true bookworm. Then, when she gives it back to me, I will be looking for a new home for this lovely book.
Now I have re-read it, I am going to lend it to my student Marita, who is a true bookworm. Then, when she gives it back to me, I will be looking for a new home for this lovely book.
Marita has now finished reading this lovely book so now it is joining the shelf in the University of Siegen's Living Lab in the hope it finds a new reader soon!
Update: this book is no longer in the living lab, so someone has obviously taken it. How nice it would be to read a journal entry for the book here some day!
