Journal Entry 2 by stinalyn from Fort Collins, Colorado USA on Saturday, November 21, 2009
I finished this up this morning, and even though I'd read it before and had some vague recollection of the plot, some of the final twists surprised me again. The story also made for an interesting compare-and-contrast of modern and early 20th-century crime scene processing. It's important to note that Poirot isn't dismissing the importance of physical evidence itself, merely a) insisting that it alone cannot solve a case, and b) refusing to cast himself in the role of crime scene tech. This is the 2nd Poirot novel and Dame Agatha's 3rd mystery novel. I plan to send this to NMReader for the Perpetual Agatha Christie Reading Challenge.
