Thank you so much, Jeanlovesbooks! This looks so interesting, can't wait to start it (although it has to wait a bit, there are some books waiting to be read first) - and thank you also for the lovely chocolate, I really appreciate it because it is local and I've never seen it before (or tasted - I already had some, and it's delicious!).

Very good - quiet, somehow haunting book about memories, relationships, life past and present. Per Petterson is very talented indeed!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Tarna, you'll get this next .. sorry for sending it right away, but don't you worry, take all the time you want with it!
Got the package today. The book looks yummy and the postcard, another painting by Volker Brummig, this time it's his vision on some artwork by Pranchi Rico (1888—1974), is so sweet.
I've heard (actually seen/read) you and some other BC'rs praise Out Stealing Horses, so I just had to raise my hand when you offered this one in the HEP thread. I'm truly interested. Thank you, Chania!

Edited March 6, 2014. Whew! Scanned the postcard and spent quite a while trying to find out the original artist and painting. The artist is Giorgio de Chirico and the painting must be Hector and Andromache (1912). I'm so grateful you make me do this, Chania. This way I learn to know artists and paintings totally new to me. Not to mention I also get some cool postcards. Thank you!

Edited on Sept. 17, 2014 to add the list of awards:
2008 Brage Prize (Brageprisen), Fiction for Adults
2008 Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature (Kritikerpris)
2009 Nordic Council's Literature Prize (Nordisk Råds litteraturpris)
Nominated for the 2010 Prix Médicis
Shortlisted for the 2011 Independent Foreign Fiction Prize
