In Dune Messiah, Paul Maud-dib matures into an adult. It is one thing to lead a revolution at white hot anger with that curiously pure focus one has in late adolescence, but what happens after the battle is won? When you no longer straddle the world between absolutes and adult responsibility? I think this may be the best of the Dune book, only because Paul has to make choices he can live with, or not.
