collection of three vampire love stories;
"All I Vant for Christmas" introduces Connor, who loves trimming the Christmas tree, baking gingerbread cookies, and hanging the mistletoe. But his vampire siblings won't help. His friend Angelina sends party planner Jillian to the rescue. But when Jillian, who's mortal, discovers she's decking the halls for a family of vampires, she must decide between running for her life - or putting Connor's mistletoe to good use. In "A Vampire in Her Stocking," Vivian becomes heartbroken when she learns that her secret crush, Sean, is terminally ill. Confiding in Angelina, Vivian refuses to turn Sean into a vampire. Deciding to play Santa, Angelina changes Sean and leaves him wrapped in a red bow on Vivian's doorstep. Angelina, the heroine of "It's a Wonderful Bite," is happy with her boyfriend Ian, but she's ready for a commitment. After drinking eggnog and watching "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve, Angelina falls into a dream where she is mortal and Ian isn't interested in her. Talk about the nightmare before Christmas! But Santa must have checked his list twice because this Christmas Angelina's wishes are coming true...

"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control."

My Review: This is a really enjoyable trio of stories! I especially loved the last one with Angelina and Ian, it's similar to It's a Wonderful Life movie storyline. I will look for more books from this author.

Saved for a Bookbox.

This was a light collection of vampire love stories. None were particularly creative, and I was rolling my eyes at plenty of the melodramatic tropes, but they were entertaining. I liked the second one best, since it dealt with some of the issues of consent that often get glossed over in the genre. Vivian was a little annoying at the beginning, but she grew on me as we got to know her as someone with strong convictions alongside the heart on her sleeve.

This was a pretty forgettable book, but it worked well for times when I just wanted some fluffy, silly, easy reading.

I'm claiming this from the Vampire bookbox. How could I resist a story called "All I Vant for Christmas"? {wry grin}

Later: Definitely on the fluffy side, these three novellas, though with some dark bits here and there. [Often, the darkest elements of the stories matched real-world concerns: disaffected offspring, career woes, etc. Compared to that, the "whoa, now I'm a vampire" thing doesn't seem quite so shocking!]

Of the three, I liked the first one ("I Vant...") best, with its single vampire-dad trying to adjust to his rebellious kids while fitting a new - and mortal - woman into his life.

"A Vampire in Her Stocking" had a nice twist on the "forced vampire transformation" plot: while heroine Vivian loves terminally-ill Sean, and would do almost anything to save him if she could, she draws the line at converting him without his consent. So her best pal decides to do it for her... Complications ensue, but things work out in the end.

"It's a Wonderful Bite" features Angelina herself, the character who brought the lovers together in the first two stories. Here she has to deal with her own choices - and she gets the "A Christmas Carol/It's a Wonderful Life" treatment when she dreams of what her life might be like if she'd never become a vampire.

Sexy seasonal fun!
