Candy Apple Dead

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a really good start to a new series. I warmed to Abby straight away and look forward to reading about her in the next book.

Thanks, I'll read this soon, sounds good!

Very nice cozy mystery: all the essential incredients were there: a small town, something to do with hands (like cooking, crafts, baking... this time it was candy making) , a clever woman who is not giving up, a handsome but slightly irritating police/investigator etc. And a murder, of course!
I liked this, and would defenitively like to read more of the series.

Sending to Kirjakko next in a Reverse Wishlist - tag.
Thanks! Now that I've stopped eating candy [says she when the last van Slooten Lakrids Figur went down the aesophagus] I'm all for reading cozy mysteries about them.
Actually I've practically given up chocolate, candy and crisps, so much so that I don't have cravings for them anymore, but when you are on the road for four days with a Besserwisser (know-all) and a Grumpy Pessimist, you have to put something in your mouth to stop the frogs leaping out of it (the English might say 'drop a brick' but that doesn't give you the reason to eat candy). Anyhow, I'm looking forward to reading this, thanks again Chania.

Finally I get around reading this... Almost ten years later to the day! BC-books are like assorted candies, you leave the best until the last, unless you tag somebody with a book. I haven't tagged anybody with this, but 've tagged yorkshire-lass with another one of the series and it looks like she hasn't read this. Will be seeing her in a week!
I'm dating Mr Fazer again and Mr Chymos and Mr Panda - and I've never been this fat!
Now there lies a mystery in my previous JE - who was the Besserwisser I had been travelling with for four days ten years ago? My wild guess is a dog show trip with a know-all, but I will definately look that up. Edit: I remembered the Besserwisser correctly, but pessimist had escaped my mind...

Two thirds read and it just dawned on me that Candy Apple Dead and One Bad Apple weren't written by the same author 😁. Well, the book gets to travel to Falkirk anyway, I'll put it in the Book Buffet.
Edit: I must be blind or something, the book has been on yorkshire-lass's wishlist since 2015! Will go into a wee parcel, like all wishlist books I'm taking over.

Finished reading this sitting on a balcony of my workmate's summer cottage. Here you don't need a cuckoo-clock, a real one is somewhere nearby.
I have to comment that medication against separation anxiety is not a tranquilizer, as the writer seems to think, but a medicine that increases the dog's serotonin levels. Serotonin is a natural mood stabilizer, a "happiness hormone", and lack of it can be linked to depression.

Surprise! More apples...
Thank you. It looks like I now have my very own orchard. It's a good thing that I like apples!
As you know, my TBR pile is massive, so it may be a while before I can get to this.
