My friend at work is getting a kindle and wanted to get rid of all her familys books. She thought of me :)

I give up. I don't like Tolkien. I tried LOTR, only finished the first book after 9 long months! A book which put me off reading for ages. I've read the Hobbit which I finished but didn't enjoy and now I'm adding this to the collection. I tried, I really did, I read 121 pages and that was a struggle. I didn't like the first two short stories and although The Silmarillion was slightly better, I'm bored as fuck. Honestly I think people must pretend to like Tolkien because he hailed as some fantasy God. I really wanted to like Tolkien, I love the films that are produced from his work, well except the first Hobbit film. But he's just so boring. The silmarillion tells the story of the creation of Middle Earth and all the races that live there. There are so many different type of elves that I just wasn't following. And I have no trouble following the characters in Game Of Thrones, maybe because those books are actually interesting.......
Yeah so basically don't bother with this unless you are already a lover of his work or pretending to be a lover of his work for literary status ;)

Although I didn't like this book. I hope you do! :)
