Wow, what an epic. This book was an incredible ride. I found myself absolutely immersed in the story every time I picked it up. I was fascinated by the Japanese culture; it was completely foreign to me and yet made complete sense whenever Mariko explained the ways to Blackthorn. I loved how the end only hinted at a conclusion; because really, how can such an epic every really have an ending?
Mailed off to kingfan30 as a RABCK. Enjoy!
Book has arrived safe and sound, thank you for sharing :)
22 May 14 - I'm glad I started this book on holiday as it meant I got about a quarter of the way through before returning home and work getting in the way of reading time!
It's not that this is a bad book, I really enjoyed learning about some of the Japanese traditions. But it is a long book with a lot of characters, some with similar names which can get confusing. Plus it all seemed to build up to something that just didn't happen.

Sending on as a RABCK
Received this morning and looking forward to reading it! Thanks kingfan30
This book took me months to read! I started it in August and finished it in January! However, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was however, relieved to get to page 1125! I don't really know how to review it. I knew I would enjoy it very quickly and found myself immersed into Japan with the Anjin San. A great novel that I'm glad I read.
