Found this wishlist book on the bargain shelf at my local used bookstore.

A fascinating examination of the author's encounter with a bizarre violent crime committed against her and a friend when they were on a cross-country bike trip during college. The man who attacked the women so violently was never caught and so, years after the event, one of the survivors decides to do her own investigation to put to rest years of nightmares and other effects it has had on her life. A gripping and affecting book.

Well, it took me ages to read this one. The story itself is really interesting, but my goodness was it repetitious! I felt the book is twice as thick as it should be, because there's really no need to repeat certain details 50 times throughout the book or document every single discussion she had with anyone remotely linked to the case... I suppose she wrote it mainly for herself, as some kind of a closure to what happened to her, but for the public it would've been a lot better to leave at least *something* out every now and then.
