Arrived safely.

Thanks for sending this my way. I do really enjoy a Philippa Gregory novel. I was fortunate to be able to here her speak about her book The Red Queen when she visited the town I used to live in back in Wales. She was very passionate about this series.

Unfortunately, I know I am not going to have time to read it this side of xmas.

Thanks again.

I bought the book with me to Hanoi, I always make sure I have plenty of time for reading while on holiday.

I am a big fan of historical fiction, particular Plantagenet and Tudor times and thus have read many different accounts. This is a quite favourable account of Elizabeth Woodville as she is so often portrayed in a power hungry, negative way. Sometimes I felt she made situations worse than they needed to be because of her paranoia, but then, at such times when women were usually just pawns in the games of men, she would have to look out for herself and her own family. Yes, she was often accused of witch craft, but I did not much like that aspect of this story.

Another person I think is often harshly judged by history is Richard III. After all, most accounts were written by the victors - the Tudors that ousted him.

Thanks for sending this may way.
