A battle is coming, and Faythe will not allow the Pride to become prey...Faythe has finally come to accept that she will someday be Alpha of the Pride, and she is hell-bent on changing the sexist Tribal Council from the inside. But first she must ensure that there will still be a Pride left to lead. Her father's role as Alpha is at risk, as is his control over the territory they all love. At the same time, Faythe's exiled boyfriend is under attack from rogues somehow connected to the political schemes of the tribal council. With her world collapsing around her, Faythe must fight to keep her friends and family together, as their enemies conspire against them.

I enjoyed this book! It was a bit different when compairing with other books in this serie and also in this genre of supernatural characters. This was sort of a snack between good action. I really liked the twist and I'm really looking forward for the next book! :)

Got this today, will get around to it ASAP, but my reading has slowed since I've come back home. I'm back at uni next Saturday, I shall be reading more by then, and so I'll get around to it quicker!

Journal Entry 16 by JonniC at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, March 5, 2013
:'-( this definitely brought tears to my eyes, so much so that they actually poured down my face. This is now the 8th book to make me cry overall.

This book had it all, and I thought it was going to be a simplistic book, and a typical one when the author struggles to come up with. So I wasn't surprised when Marc got kidnapped, I already knew from reading the blurb.

But seriously, I felt every emotion possible. At the end of every chapter there was a cliff hanger, and I just couldn't stop reading over and over again, my flatmates couldn't believe how much I was reading. Even while making the dinner in the kitchen, I'd be there reading this book.

I finished it in 3 days, and would've finished it last night, but by the time it got to 2am, I was way too tired to continue on.

This is definitely the best book from the series so far, and I'd go as far as saying that it's the "changing book" the one where so much stuff happens that we'll definitely won't be returning to that happy life we first saw right at the beginning of book number one.

I shall be sending this book out ASAP (hopefully this week)! :)

OK - back yesterday from a trip away and having lots of sorting to do though I found Vincent's PREY waiting for me I dutifully set it aside as a treat for later. I need hardly say I cracked - this series is so addictive - then the book hardly left my hands till done. My unpacking, as with other tasks, remains undone, and even before I could get myself online to register it's arrival, I have to admit to having read Prey at light-speed.

High-octane drama and then some - gasp! This is formula one paced with fast and furious pit-stops and by the books end I was as rung out as a team manager. Vincent's is a pitch perfect play, Faythe's outrageous insubordination, driven by a volatile combination of strong will and intelligence continues to function for and against her while the Machiavellian machinations of Malone and his followers grow ever more contemptible. Both great tragedy and tiny glimmers of hope rock the foundations of all Faythe and her family know as this tale crashes on toward further conflict. I’m still reeling!

For some strange reason I had misunderstood and thought the spiral was for the first three books only, Ythan set me straight last week. I am so thrilled that vampirequeen's book spiral includes the entire series, and I have books four and five to read yet - what joy!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Hi Ythan – couldn’t resist this posting this knowing how much you are looking forward to it, and indeed, as expected Prey was as chock full of sneaky behind the scenes manipulations, snappy snarl, and ferocious fighting as we expected - while the tragedy was every bit as devastating in impact! You might as well just tell your family they won’t be seeing you till this is finished!

rainbow3 decided to post this one as she knew how much I was looking forward to reading it. Woohoo, wonderful surprise, can't wait to get started. :)

This is definitely my favourite book from this series so far. I was looking for more happy times in this book but there just wasn't time for any happiness really. Faythe lives in a chaotic world and something tells me it won't be getting quieter any time soon. Although I understand the choices she makes, sometimes I just want to knock some sense into her, she just has to make a chaotic situation worse.

Bring on the next two, looks like I'll have to patient for a few months till they reach me. The waiting won't be easy but i'll distract myself somehow. :)
