Having thought well of Cat's Eye by this author, and a couple of her stories, I picked this up at the Friends of the Library Book Sale.
Uneasy stories, of dissatisfactions that break out stormily and hard-to-define anxieties... My favorite, I think, was "Loulou, or the Domestic Life of the Language" because the main character is so juicy. And she seems to be doing rather well, for a woman in this collection.
