Next month's book club pick. I dunno....
Here's a little blurb that I attach to each book that I've registered:
Welcome to BookCrossing! It's a site for catching and releasing books and spreading the good karma of reading! Please make a journal entry when you FIND this book and let previous readers know how you came upon it. You may remain anonymous on this site if you like but it's very safe and spam free. We leave FREE books around for others to stumble upon...they read, and then re-release in a public place for someone else to enjoy. Of course you're welcome to keep the book if you prefer but it's more fun to watch them travel and to hear from them once in a while. I hope you enjoy the book but I especially hope you enjoy BookCrossing.
Many thanks, Poobah1

Well, I'm surprised to report that I found it interesting. Enjoyed the characters and the story line (to a degree). Many of our book club members agreed that we find it disturbing that it is written for and marketed to the YA crowd with such brutal violence and disregard for life in and "entertainment" way but nonetheless we (all but one) thought it was a good read. A few of us are even intrigued enough to go on to the next one in the trilogy.
So, I guess I can say I'm glad my book club made me read it as I never would have done it on my own. I'm now setting it aside for my husband to finish. I had been reading it to him in the car on the way to my brother's cabin for our Cajun Shocktoberfest but I have to scoot ahead and finish for book club. He was liking it too.
Edited 11/11/11: My husband took it to Florida for a fire convention. He plans to finish reading it there.
