An old frail copy.
From the back:
Flom blizzard-stricken Boston to arid Patagonia; travelling by luxury express and squalid local trucks; sweating and shivering by turns as the temperature and altitude shot up and down; thrown in with the appalling Mr. Thornberry in Limon and reading nightly to the blind writer, Borges, in Buenos Aires; Paul Theroux's vivid pen cleary evokes the contrasts of a journey 'to the end of the line'.
November 2011: This was a very interesting and fun travel story to read, eventhough it dates back to 1979. A train trip through South America. It felt like I was actually travelling along with the author. Paul Theroux has a funny witty way of writing.
