Amazon Besprechung der Redaktion

The Brit Writers' Awards (www.britwriters.co.uk) is nothing short of a writing and publishing phenomenon. It has attracted tens of thousands of entries in its eight categories and is offering the largest prize ever for unpublished writers in a creative writing competition. Infinite Ideas will publish this year's deserved winner of the Children's story category, Catherine Cooper's wonderful novel The Golden Acorn. When Jack Brenin finds a golden acorn lying in the grass, little does he know that it is the beginning of a thrilling and magical adventure. Just an ordinary boy, Jack has been chosen for a hugely important task, and enters a world he believed only existed in legend. Full of twists and turns, talking ravens and mischievous Spriggans, The Golden Acorn is a hugely entertaining and exciting tale from a very talented new author. Your kids will love it, and so will you!

spannend für Kinder ab 8 Jahre denke ich und für englische Leseübung sehr gut gegeignet.
Der Schluß verlangt nach dem Nachfolgeband, der wohl gerade entsteht, lt. Autorin.
Bin gespannt wann es verfilmt wird .

Taken from Ghanescha's bag of books during the early bird tour for the Melbourne convention.

I think I might actually read this one - it looks interesting.

A fun story, but the ending was a bit unsatisfying (unless there's a sequel, of course - I'd forgive the author for leaving so much unresolved if so).
