I know I read this in Junior High or High School but not sure I appreciated how awful and self-centered these people were. Uhg. Fitzgerald has a way of words that makes you want to continue reading even if you dislike the characters. Nick the main character was about the only one with a little redeeming quality.

This particular copy apparently was owned by a student named Megan Matter, who along with another friend wrote random comments all over it. A bit annoying since the used book seller called it "good condition" and text is unmarked. In a way, its kind of a real world meets fiction - self-centered people oblivious to other things around them.
