How very suitable for Halloween, thank you Safrolistics.
And I do like the Devil's tail-shaped page marker :-)

What a charming folk tale! And if I am ever in the vicinity (and I do like to visit Wales) I will certainly visit Devil's Bridge :-)
And actually, I live in Oughtibridge, near Sheffield, location of a bridge across the River Don. There are a few theories about how our village got its name. A silly one - there 'ought' to be a bridge there. A sensible one - it comes from a landowner called Oughtred in the 12th century who may have built the bridge. But my favourite theory (and considering that the village name is actually pronounced Ooty-bridge) is that 'Old Ooty' is an old fashioned name for the devil and so my village is named after its own 'Devil's Bridge' :-)
