I read this book already some years ago in German. I liked it a lot and will try it in English now.

Maud and Roland are two scientists, that are posessed with the lifes of the (fictive) victorian authors LaMotte (for Maud) and Ash (for Roland). The two academics discover letters that prove that the two poets had been lovers. The book shows different views of "posession", among lovers, academic posession of a subject that in the literacy science often is one author whos work and life the scholars seem to know better than the person him- or herself. I really like the book - because it is intelligent and has a lot of different devices and levels.
I again enjoyed reading this book. In English I found the language even more beautiful and also very humourous.

I tagged the wishlist of Qantaqa with this book and will send it away today.
